Feniska Base
Where can I place the FENISKA Base?
The FENISKA base is (LxW) 45cm x 45cm in size. You can put anything on it that is a similar size. The furniture can also protrude slightly, but make sure that it is no more than 1.5 cm.
The FENISKA Base can be used under litter boxes, cat beds, dog beds, transport crates, blankets, baskets, etc.
Which pets can use the FENISKA Base?
The FENISKA Base can be used by dogs and cats with a
weight of less than 10kg and a shoulder height of approx. 35 cm.
The FENISKA Base can be used by almost all cat breeds
- with the exception of Maine Coons.
Dogs that can use the FENISKA Base are dogs from the toy group,
Mini Poodle, Pomeranian, Scottish Terrier, Schnauzer, Maltese Shih Tzu, Jack
Russell Terriers, Chihuahuas, Cavalier King Charles, Spaniels and other small ones
dog breeds.
Is the FENISKA Base waterproof?
No. Do not immerse the base in water and do not put it in the dishwasher or washing machine.
How does the FENISKA Base record my pet's data?
The FENISKA Base collects all health data
Sensors and information that you enter manually into the FENISKA app. There are
neither microphones nor cameras built into the FENISKA base.
Is the FENISKA Base scratch-resistant?
The base is made of plastic and should withstand an average amount of scratches. In any case, the main functions of the base should still work even if your pet has scratched the base.
How can I configure the FENISKA Base?
Simply connect the base to your home network using the FENISKA app. You can enter information there, such as which pets you have, how old they are and where you want to place the FENISKA Base. If you need to change information, you can easily do this in the settings in the app. The configuration process only takes a few minutes.
Can I connect the Feniska® Base to multiple accounts?
Not yet, but we are working on this feature.
How can I reset the FENISKA Base?
You can reset the FENISKA Base in the settings under "Profile" -> "FENISKA Base".
Do I have to reset the FENISKA Base after cleaning the litter box?
Yes, you have to reset the FENISKA Base as soon as the object lying on the base changes. Otherwise the weight of the item will manipulate your pet's data.
I have more than one cat
If there are several cats, the FENISKA Base can differentiate between the cats. Just make sure you enter the correct starting weight for each pet.
How does the Feniska Base recognize whether I'm refilling cat litter?
After you have cleaned the litter box and either removed urine or feces or changed the litter, you should open the Feniska app and press the "Calibrate" button. This resets the Feniska Base and sets it to 0. This step is critical for the scale to continue identifying, distinguishing, and tracking your cats' visits to the toilet.
I'm on vacation, how can I calibrate the Feniska Base?
Option: The cat sitter could unplug the Feniska Base and plug it back in after 2-3 seconds. This has the same effect as calibrating the base in the app. The base then restarts and takes about 5-10 seconds to be operational again.
Option: If you know when the cat sitter will clean the toilet or they can send you a message when the cleaning is complete, you can calibrate from the app even when you're not at home.
I have several litter boxes at home, can I use several Feniska Bases?
You can easily use multiple bases in your home. The app automatically recognizes and assigns toilet visits to the correct cat, provided you have added both bases to the app and created separate profiles for each of your cats.
Does the Feniska Base work on any surface?
You can use the Feniska Base on various surfaces such as carpets, laminate, tiles or parquet. However, it is important that you ensure that the Feniska Base is stable and not, for example, only partially lying on the carpet.

Where can I get the evaluated data?
The FENISKA Base is used in combination with the FENISKA App. All recorded and analyzed data of your pet is made available here.
Can I also use the Feniska app without the base?
It is possible to track and save the data manually. You can use the FENISKA App to learn and educate yourself about your pet's breed and everything related to health.
Why is weight control important?
There are two main reasons for this:
1. 53% of pets are overweight (according to the APA, obesity is the #1 health problem in pets) and this shortens pet life expectancy by up to 2 years. Obesity is the main cause of diseases such as heart problems, urinary stones and diabetes.
2. Gradual weight loss is indicative of a chronic condition and can be felt weeks or months in advance. Gradual weight loss is not easy to see with the naked eye.
Sometimes I see weight fluctuations on the app within a day. Why is that?
It's perfectly normal for a cat's weight to fluctuate between 80 and 150 grams over the course of a day. This can vary by cat breed and gender. Such weight fluctuations are due to natural bodily processes, such as how often she goes to the bathroom and the amount of food she eats throughout the day. To ensure the accuracy of the data, we perform regular cleansing. More specifically, we automatically clean up any incorrect data every 5 hours, so that by the next day at the latest, the data from the previous day is correct.
Why is behavior tracking important?
Slight deviations in the daily rhythm, when going to the toilet, eating habits or movements can already be noticeable signs of illness.
